Yesterday there was a new birth at Pine Harbour, east of Auckland. She is #2 of our 39' alloy cutter design (called the AFC 1175 or design #080 elsewhere on this website), similar to LISO but with taller rig, a deep fin keel with all of the ballast in the bulb and a composite spade rudder. So far the leading contender for her name is " AL " as in alloy or maybe "You can call me AL"!
Currently Al is devoid of an interior and weighs in at only 6000 kg. She will be closer to 9000 kg when fully fitted out. In the meantime we will tentatively undertake seatrials in this really light condition. Should be fun!
